Embodied knowledge is a type of knowledge where the body knows how to act. It’s the reason you can’t forget how to ride a bicycle. There are some acts that feel second nature. Making something by hand provides me with a type of embodied knowledge or intuition that helps to identify a design’s natural direction. It’s a method for creating thrust. My interest in making is not limited to traditional craft techniques, I am also exploring emerging digital fabrication technologies to support my work.
